A note from NYMNPA

"As part of the journey to reaching net zero carbon emissions CPRE North Yorkshire are looking for rural communities within the North York Moors National Park to take part in a pilot scheme to explore, assess and understand what areas of your local landscape are important to you, what the local constraints are to renewable energy and what sort of technologies could be accommodated in a protected landscape setting such as the National Park.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore what is achievable in your local area, working with experts to help form a tool box to help local communities progress these schemes in the future or to simply use as an evidence base for planning in the future. The project will involve a series of facilitated workshops ( 3 x half day sessions) hosted by CPRE North Yorkshire in which people from a local community come together to see how new renewable energy could be incorporated into their local landscape. There is no cost for this, just your time.

If your community is interested in understanding what possibilities there are of developing a community renewable energy project in your village then please get in touch with Katie Atkinson katie@kvaplanning.co.uk or Clair Shields c.shields@northyorkmoors.org.uk to register your interest"
