MEDIA RELEASE

19 May 2016

Public invited to healthcare marketplace event and CCG Annual General Meeting

Members of the public from across Hambleton, Richmondshire, Whitby and the surrounding area are invited to learn more about the work of their local NHS clinical commissioning group and to ask questions at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30 June.

The AGM for NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (the CCG) is being held at Sneaton Castle, Whitby YO21 3QN on Thursday 30 June from 2pm until 4.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be available.

The doors will open from 2pm where there will be a Marketplace Event. Delegates can meet members of the Governing Body and learn more about the work of the CCG and other local health and social care organisations.

The formal meeting, which runs from 3pm to 4pm, will include updates from members of the CCG’s Governing Body reflecting on progress made during the past year as the lead commissioner for health services across the area. The AGM will also share updates on the remodelling of Whitby Community Hospital, plans for community transformation and current financial challenges in the NHS.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the meeting to have ‘Tea and a Chat’ with Governing Body members.

To help the CCG plan the formal meeting effectively attendees can register in advance by emailing HRWCCG.HRWCCGenquiries@nhs.net or calling 01609 767621.

Dr Charles Parker, local GP and Clinical Chair of the CCG said:

“The past year has seen some real progress in the development of health and social care – but it has also identified new challenges. We’re hoping the marketplace event will demonstrate the variety of local health and social care organisations and offer a more interactive way to address those challenges.

“The AGM itself is a great opportunity to hear about your local healthcare services first-hand and for us to hear from local people so we can commission services that truly reflect their needs. We look forward to seeing new faces and welcoming back many others.”

For people who are unable to make the formal meeting but would like to submit a question to the CCG’s Governing Body, they can submit them in advance up until 5pm on Friday 17 June by emailing hrwccg.hrwccgenquiries@nhs.net or by writing to NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby CCG, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Northallerton DL6 2UU.
